Since January this year I am now taking Methotrexate by subcutaneous self injections, which I have found very easy and straight forward to use. I am still waiting for the benefits of the higher up-take in the Methx. I am ever hopeful ThumpUp

I have ordered a 0.6 lt sharps bin to take on holiday, which has cost just under £5.00 and of course is not re-usable. Does anyone have a cheaper website/provider who sells these? I think I will just save this bin and use for holidays and weekends away etc on the basis that Bupa, hopefully, can take away when full after a few uses during the year.

Thanks for listening.

ohhh never thought of that,

i've been holidaying in this Country of late, so i bring my epi pen home in the cool bag i pack it in,

learn something new all the time,

P.S. i wonder if a local Pharmacy would also dispose of it for you.

Hi,

When I go away I tend to just put the bung back on the end and put it back into the packaging box and bring it home and dispose in the sharps box. I hadn't thought about taking one on holiday with me.

I have applied a bit of lateral thinking to this problem and came up with an idea that might work.

You could use a toothbrush case as a mini sharps bin, One like this

The drawback is that you can't isolate sharps that are already in there, but for a short break that wouldn't matter too much would it? It's not as if you are injecting every day is it?

On the plus side - completely re-usable and very cheap

good thinking Paul,

with the epi pen you can put the lid back on, hence i use the small cool box i take it in,

with all our different take's am sure one would suit ThumpUp

Thank you for everyone's ideas.

Paul, the sharps box works out at £11.00 with the vat and delivery. But I think that the aperture for the box would be too small for the syringe anyway.

Another thought. Have you tried phoning your medication supplier and asking them if they can supply a small box for travelling? After all, they supply the big version don't they.

Just pray it's not H@H. If it is be sure to look at my post re non premium numbers
